A Blast From the Past

The Armani fashions shown at Milan week take us back to the 1930's.  Of course, they have a modern twist with over sized earrings.  I wonder what effect all these hats will have on hair styles.  A fluffy do wouldn't work since it would be squashed when you removed the hat and no one wants to have "hat hair".  Remember the hairdos of the 30's?  They were usually cropped with finger waves and close to the head.  Those who still had long hair often wore it in a bun below the rim of the hat.  Even the makeup on these models looks retro.

Have you noticed all the brown automobiles lately?  This is another sight we haven't seen in many years, and many of the car manufacturers have new models in varying shades of brown.

Shoes also bring to mind the fashions of decades gone by.

Cottage style is popular in home decor and everyone seems to be trying to simplify, pare down, and eliminate stress and clutter in their lives.

Magazines like Country Living show you how to make a home without spending a load of money and the blog world is innundated with ideas for recycling older things to get a cottage look and save money at the same time.
Perhaps the pendulum is swinging back to an gentler time and life will be calmer. One can only hope.
